Easy Dog Birthday Cake Recipe

Maybe it's the #Quarantine or maybe I've always been this extra, but today my first fur baby, Max, turns FOUR and I decided to bake him a cake!




Max is a German Shepherd and has very sensitive skin, so finding a recipe that was dairy free was a little challenging but I came across two recipes that would work and when combined it created a variation of a carrot cake/banana bread.


IT WAS A HIT with the pups, and after trying it myself, I can say that it wasn't half bad!


So now, the moment you've been waiting for THE INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS!






CAKE INGREDIENTS:


- 1 CUP FLOUR

- 1 TSP BAKING SODA

- 1 CUP GRATED CARROTS

- 1/4 CUP OIL (I used Olive Oil)

- 1/4 CUP PEANUT BUTTER

- 1/3 CUP HONEY

- 1 EGG


ICING INGREDIENTS:

- 1/4 CUP PEANUT BUTTER

- 1 to 2 RIPE MASHED BANANAS


BAKING DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix together the flour and baking soda

2. Add in the remaining cake ingredients and mix well

3. Grease a 8 - 9 in cake pan and pour mixture into pan


4. Bake at 350 degrees for approx 15-20 minutes until golden brown

5. Once cake is cooled, mix icing together and spread on cake


Icing Directions:

1. Mash baanas well until smooth and creamy

2. Add in peanut butter and mix well

3. Ice cake and you're ready to serve
